This policy applies to the Proven Path Connect members network, accessible via the web app and mobile app. It is operated by LCSI Pty Ltd trading as Proven Path Academy.

1. Who we are

Proven Path Connect is a peer-to-peer professional support network. Members offer 15-minute calls to one another in exchange for points. The platform is operated by LCSI Pty Ltd, registered in South Africa.

2. What information we collect

When you create an account and use Proven Path Connect, we collect:

Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as plain text; we strongly recommend using a unique password).
Profile information — job title, company name, a short bio, areas of expertise, preferred availability, and an optional profile photo.
Booking information — details of calls you book or receive, including topic, notes, platform used, date and time, and status.
Review information — star ratings and written reviews you leave or receive after completed calls.
Points balance — a record of points earned, spent, and topped up.
Membership information — your membership tier, start date, and duration if you hold a paid membership.

We do not collect payment card details. Payments are processed through third-party payment providers (such as Paystack). We only receive confirmation that a payment was made.

3. How we use your information

To operate your account and enable you to book and receive calls.
To display your profile to other members when they search for help in your areas of expertise.
To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, reminders) to your registered email address.
To compute activity badges and expertise levels displayed on your profile.
To generate aggregate, anonymised statistics shown on the public directory page (no personal data is included).
To administer the network and resolve disputes or misuse.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Who can see your information

Other members can see your name, profile photo, title, company, bio, focus areas, star rating, and availability. They cannot see your email address, password, or booking history.
Platform administrators (Proven Path Academy staff) can see all account and booking data for the purposes of operating and moderating the network.
Third-party service providers — we use a MySQL database hosted on a shared server at Register Domain SA (South Africa). Data is stored in South Africa.

5. Data retention

Your account and associated data are retained for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, all your personal data including profile information, bookings, and reviews will be permanently deleted within 30 days. To request deletion, email info@proven-path-academy.com.

6. Cookies and tracking

The Proven Path Connect web app uses a browser session ("remember me" token) stored in a cookie to keep you logged in across visits. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics third parties.

The mobile app stores your session token in the device's secure local storage. No device identifiers are transmitted to our servers.

7. Security

All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS. Passwords are currently stored as plain text in the database — we recommend using a unique password not shared with other services. We are working toward hashed password storage in a future update.

8. Children

Proven Path Connect is intended for professional adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your rights

Under South African POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) and applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate information.
Request deletion of your account and data.
Object to the processing of your information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
